Wide-body aircraft can accommodate pallets, flight cases, and oversized items. According to special cargo security inspection requirements, high-density metal parts (such as molds), complex precision instruments, sealed items, liquids, and certain jewelry that are difficult to inspect by opening containers must be quarantined for 24 hours and approved before shipment.

[Sea Freight] Landlocked countries transit through coastal ports, completing cross-border transportation via multimodal transport.

[International Express] Commonly used companies include DHL, FedEx, UPS, and Aramex, with some transiting through the Middle East and Europe to local African air freight. Different transport routes have different transit times and last-mile delivery times, and the billing standards for bulky, oversized, overweight, and overweight goods also differ.

Djibouti: Consignee's NIF tax number is required. Original documents (including Certificate of Origin, CO) are recommended for customs clearance. The destination airport typically offers 3 days of free storage. The new Doraleh port area is larger than the old Djibouti port area .

Uganda: Consignee (company or individual) must have a local TIN registration number, which can be registered independently. A PVOC Certificate of Conformity (CoC) is required before goods enter the country; otherwise, a penalty of approximately 15% will be imposed. The destination airport offers 3 days of free storage. Major cities are Kampala and Entebe; sea freight often uses the port of Mombasa in Kenya.

Rwanda: The capital is Kigali. Import taxes are relatively high. A local PIN (tax registration number) of the consignee is required for customs clearance. The overall clearance process is relatively standardized. The free storage period at the destination airport is 2 days.

Tanzania: Customs clearance requires original documents to be accompanied by the goods or mailed. A PVOC Certificate of Conformity (CoC) must be obtained in the country of origin before the goods enter the country. A local TIN (tax registration number) of the consignee is required. The free storage period at the destination airport is 3 days. Major cities include Dar es Salaam, Tanga, Arusha, and Dodoma.

Sudan: Due to the situation, the original gateway, Khartoum Airport, is unstable. Currently, many shipments are diverted to other airports or neighboring countries for transshipment. Secondary transshipment leads to varying degrees of increased costs and changes in delivery time. Carriers come from Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Important cities include Port Sudan, Wad Medani, El Obeid, and Kassala.

Eritrea: Main ports include Asmara and Massawa. There is no tax exemption; general commercial imports are subject to taxation. Importers must obtain an import license in advance, and original documents (including Certificate of Origin, CO) are required for customs clearance. Wireless equipment and certain second-hand goods are subject to local control or restrictions on import. The free storage period at the destination airport is 5 days.

Ethiopia: Original documents are required for customs clearance. There is no free storage period at the destination airport. If customs clearance is not completed within 10 days of arrival at the bonded warehouse, a delay penalty of approximately 20% of the tax amount will be imposed. Main ports include Addis Ababa, Modjo, and Dire Dawa. Sea freight often transits through the surrounding ports of Djibouti and Berbera.

Madagascar: Customs invoices and packing lists must be signed and stamped. Importers must provide an NIF tax number. Although an island nation, it has a relatively extensive air freight network. The free storage period at the destination airport is 3 days. This country is a globally renowned exporter of vanilla, traditionally exporting mainly to Europe and America, but in recent years exports to China, particularly Shenzhen and Shanghai, have also grown rapidly. Major vanilla producers include Antanamarivo and Toamasina.

Burundi: Electronic customs clearance documents are sufficient. The destination airport typically offers a 7-day free storage period. The domestic service tax is 18%. Some airlines use the CFA Franc (CFA Franc) for logistics settlements. Major cities include Bujumbura, Gitega, and Ngozi. Sea freight transits through Dar es Salaam. Some buyers engage in small-batch, frequent trade.

Somalia: Major cities include Mogadishu and Kismayo in the south, Bosaso in the northeast, and Hargeisa and Berbera in the north. For products from the southern region, a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) must be obtained at the port of origin before entry; arrival without a certificate will trigger inspection. Some products require import licenses, and the recipient often pays the taxes themselves. Import taxes in this country are linked to the number of packages and gross weight, not solely based on the value of the goods. Heavy goods and machinery must be packaged in wooden crates, and some are transported via multimodal transport, such as through Kenya. Some banks have complex approval terms. 

There are substantial differences in customs clearance and documentation requirements across different regions of the country; customs clearance in the northern regions like Berbera and Hargeisa is completely different from that in the south, so please do not confuse them.

South Sudan: Electronic versions of customs invoices and packing lists are required. For goods exceeding USD 2000, a pre-shipment inspection (CoC) is necessary. If duty-free, a duty-free certificate is required. All food and medical products require a DFCA certificate, and telecommunications equipment requires an NCA certificate. Major destinations include Juba, Wau, Malakal, Yei, and Nimule. Importers' customs clearance capabilities vary, and import taxes are relatively high. Some goods are transported via multimodal transport through Kenya and other regions.
