The overall tax rate is relatively high. Some products require import licenses, such as automobiles, T-shirts, food, and agricultural products. Importers must register with their home country's customs authority (ASYCUDA). In the traditional model, importer registration and import taxes are generally arranged by the recipient; under the DAP and DDU models, the buyer pays all taxes.
